“We need to export more of our goods around the world. We will double our exports over the next five years, an increase that will support two million new jobs in America. To met this goal, we’re launching a National Export Initiative that will help farmers and small businesses increase their exports and expand their markets.” President Obama, State of the Union Address, January, 2010.
The Business & Entrepreneurship Center at Kern Community College District is responding to industry’s request for information and know-how on increasing international exports. The seminar is for those interested in exploring the world of international business, in particular exporting to the China market. In collaboration with a number of federal and state agencies, the BEC is hosting a very unique seminar for the AG industry with intent of stimulating commerce and US exports. The event is designed to strengthen exiting exporting programs; assist with collaboration between industry, education, and government; and expand opportunities that stimulate commerce, increase revenues and promote job creation.
The Business & Entrepreneurship Centers at Kern Community College District and Cuesta College have collaborated to bring these unique events to the agriculture industries in Kern, San Luis Obispo and surrounding counties. The BEC at Cuesta College event is August 30th (click here for more information on San Luis Obispo event); and September 13th for the Bakersfield event.
