The Kern BEC provides small business assistance targeting existing businesses in high growth sectors, and encourages young people to engage in entrepreneurship as a legitimate lifetime career path.
The Kern BEC assists businesses and entrepreneurs through partnerships and collaboration with industry, education and government to expand market share, increase wealth, and overall improve the economic health in California. By collecting and analyzing community data, the Kern BEC evaluates the economics needs in the California Central Valley, disseminate up-to-date and relevant information to businesses, and responds to unique needs for specialized consulting, training, workshops and other projects for businesses to grow and compete.
The Kern BEC serves the Central Valley region, comprising 16 counties and 14 community colleges, targets businesses that have the potential to achieve significant increases in sales investment and boost regional economic wealth. Kern BEC services target businesses in key growth industry sectors common to the region: Agriculture; Energy; Health Services; Manufacturing; Transportation, Warehousing & Logistics.
