Youth Entrepreneurship

AAA

Kern BEC’s Youth Entrepreneurship Program strengthens the entrepreneurial spirit in California by encouraging young people, between the ages of 14 and 27, to engage in business ownership as a legitimate lifetime career path.

YEP projects are designed to bring together high schools and community colleges through building curricula, classroom content and community support. YEP focuses on the fundamentals of starting a small business from inspiration to evaluating feasibility, developing the all-important business plan, making sound financial decisions, and learning from successful entrepreneurs.

YEP is creative and diverse in its outreach methods taking advantage of youths’ beloved use of technologies and social media networks. Using websites, blogs, social networking sites and virtual reality games, youth-oriented champions introduce young entrepreneurs to the concept of small business ownership as a viable career choice.
